Hello! My name is Andy and I am the youngest of the three sisters on this blog. I have to point that out because I have six kids and am fast looking like I am 10 years older than Cate and JB. I married my wonderful husband in 2007 – best decision this indecisive soul has ever made! I have two older boys, he has our middle boy, and we have a daughter and two sons together – all of whom have been born in the last three years. We are busy. I am lucky to be a SAHM and spend my days juggling the drama and testosterone of two teenage boys and having three little ducklings follow me EVERYWHERE I go. When I have my wits about me and have had enough sleep I enjoy running, reading and writing immensely. Most days I’m lucky if I remember to shave both legs – that is, IF I get a shower.
My Honey: Even though he is 10 years younger than me he has taught me more about love, patience and true kindness than anyone. He loves our kids fiercely and has been nicknamed the “fun parent” by our teenagers – much to my dismay. He loves to play softball and I enjoy teasing him that his body isn’t as kind to him as it once was – he’s been teasing me for years! He’s the “muscle” in our parental justice system – I wouldn’t want to parent with anyone else!
LL: Our newest edition is quickly proving to be the easiest. I don’t know if it’s because we are desensitized, more experienced, or everyone else just annoys us completely. His two biggest accomplishments in his short 7 months on this earth are getting his two front bottom teeth and taking his first steps – already! His eyes light up when he smiles and he has the best giggle. He enjoys putting everything he can into his mouth, listening to Mommy sing and his favorite spot is in Mommy’s arms.
Tonka: This handful of a 2 yo is true to his nickname – he barrels through anything, can withstand any fall, and has no fear – of anything! He has the best little sense of humor – making us crack up when he is in the biggest trouble. He smiles and sings all day and runs everywhere he goes. He also walks on his toes if he doesn’t have shoes on so his calf muscles are going to be the envy of women everywhere when he is older. Tormenting his sister is his favorite past time and his favorite spot is in Mommy’s arms.
Sass: Well – she basically thinks she runs the show and isn’t wavering from that mindset no matter how many timeouts or spankings she gets. At almost 3 yo – she loves to scare people, loves to be scared, loves to play pretend and loves to mother LL. She is truly a ray of sunshine in this testosterone filled man cave we live in and everday she makes me want to be a better woman. She spends her days playing dress up, dancing – anywhere and everywhere, and making up songs and her favorite spot is in Mommy’s arms.
Skyjack: Baseball, soccer, football – okay – any sport with a ball in it – he’s playing it and he’s great at it! This tough 9 yo is a natural athlete and has a heart as big as the moon. He loves dearly and deeply and is a great big brother to the younger 3. We are lucky enough to have him every weekend and when he is here he loves to draw, play chase and hide and seek with the little ones, and hang out with Hopper. His favorite spot – Wherever Andy just got up from! (the little stinker!)
Hopper: Named so for his extremely long legs – our 14 yo is almost the tallest in the house and gaining fast. He is really starting to come into his own with his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He is training to become a licensed SCUBA diver and his best friend is his two year old dog he adopted. Hopper spends his days playing WOW and reading. He wants to be a vet when he grows up and open a ranch where he can save and take care of all the animals that need him. His favorite spot – on the big chair – with a book, of course!
B: The oldest and most sarcastic of the bunch. This guy is so smart I can’t believe he is mine. He is fast becoming a man – mastering both the “I need to relax” attitude and the infamous “man cold”. He leaves for college in 1 1/2 yrs and would like to major in pre-med. He keeps everyone on their toes around here and definitely keeps us laughing – or sending him to his room. He spends his days playing WOW and working. His favorite spot – at the computer!
